We, TSKE, announced today that we have been awarded an order from GS Engineering & Construction Corporation, a major engineering company in South Korea. The order is for the incineration system in liquid waste／waste gas treatment for the Rabigh Phase II project in Saudi Arabia (*1).
TSKE’s incineration system for liquid waste treatment is the company’s core product and holds a large share of the global and Japanese market. By the end of last year, TSKE has already provided nine incineration systems in Saudi Arabia. These systems are technically special incinerators and the system is capable of completing the oxidation and decomposition of harmful organic compounds contained in wastewater by effectively combusting liquid waste from industrial plants at operating temperature of 950 degrees to 1,000 degrees centigrade.
In accordance with its new medium-term management plan released in May of this year, Tsukishima Kikai has been “Focusing on environmental and energy business fields” and “Expanding overseas business.”
Many resource development and petrochemical projects will continue to be undertaken in the energy resource-rich countries. We will aim to contribute to preserving the global environment by striving to boost orders for environmental protection systems in such projects, including liquid waste／gas treatment systems.

The Phase II project is underway in the world’s largest integrated refinery and petrochemicals complex operated by the Rabigh Refining and Petrochemical Company (Petro Rabigh), jointly founded by the Sumitomo Chemical Co., Ltd. and The Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco). The Rabigh II Project, by expanding the ethane cracker and building a new aromatics complex, will produce an additional feedstock to produce a variety of high value-added petrochemical products.
